Today's thing was "every kid should have a best friend". Well if this blog isn't evidence enough, let me help fill you in. . .this was is SO in the bag! Let me tell you how this friendship got started. . . Two years ago, summer was nearing and it was time for me to move yet again. I was super anxious to get a specific bedroom in my new apartment so I decided to go talk to the current residents and see what their plan was and when they were planning on moving out so I could move in two minutes later. Nervously I knocked on the door and forever my life was changed! One of the girls who was moving out answered and I started asking her some questions and then Shan came to the door and started talking to. The conversation that followed lasted for over thirty minutes but the Readers Digest version of it is that they were moving out to get away from a bad situation that I would have been moving in to. Apparently though, whatever I said convinced them that I was pretty cool, so they invited me to live with them right across the porch instead. So I did, and well you can figure out the rest. Two of the bestest friends EVER were formed!
Even though we already have a best friend we wanted to do something for this, so we went out and bought "Best Friend" bracelets. We headed to Claire's with great excitement for our new purchase. As we were in there trying to find the perfect one, these adorable little girls walked in who couldn't have been more than nine. With smiles on their faces, just as big as ours, they ran right up to the same rack we were looking at and they too started looking for the perfect necklace. haha! Yes, we felt slightly foolish but we didn't care because it was one of our 101 things and we were definitely best friends, just like these two little girls were.
