Today's thing was "every kid should have a get better box." Let me just tell you that this couldn't have fallen on a better day because I am sick! Ok, but enough about me and on to the good stuff! In the book they gave suggestions of things that we could put in our box some we followed and some we branched out on. We hit up the dollar store (don't worry Shari this one isn't going to break the bank) and found some sweet stuff to help us feel better on a crumby day.
This is my awesome pile of sick day fun. I got the movie "Sixteen Candles", one of my most favoritest childhood books "Mrs. Piggle Wiggle", a nursery rhymes book, sudoku book, a deck of cards (they are some pretty sweet Elvis ones!) a whiteboard and marker, Sour Patch Kids (my favorite treat), and a pair of socks. We also both got getter better cards that we are going to write for each other and not open until we need a pick me up.
Shan's sweet pile consists of a lot of the same. It has a deck of cards, a white board and marker, sudoku book, the same pair of socks, Juji Fruits (her favorite candy) and a card. Her books were "Life According to Mr. Rodgers" and a fairy tale book, and she got "The Pursuit of Happyness" for her movie.
So nice little side note about the socks. Note that they don't match each other but instead we have one of each. This is because on sick days who better to think of then your best friend! By wearing each others sock we will be thinking of each other. The absolute best part. . . .I am a HUGE fan of wearing mismatched socks and Shan's OCD side tells her that it is all wrong so she is making a big sacrifice to remember her friend on a sick day!
Our cute little bags all buddled up ready for a sick day!
i am pretty sure i need one of these bags
