If you are freaking out because we have missed the last few days. . .calm down we have been busy. We combined the last three days all into one big project for Kel's class' science unit. Day 5's thing was "every kid should play with play dough". Day 6's thing was "every kid should experiment with simple science projects"; and today's thing is "every kid should build a model." So as I have mentioned we combined these all into one for Kel's class. In her science unit they are learning about landforms, erosion, weather, etc. ending with an exploding volcano. So we built landforms and a volcano out of play dough for our play with play dough. We did a simple science project by testing for the volcano explosion (combining diet coke and mentos works best), and finally we build a model by arranging all of the landforms into a model to show her students as an example. Needless to say we used all of our flour stash and had a lot of fun!!!!!
Our landforms (unpainted): Mountains, Cliffs, Butte, Arch, Lake, Volcano, Canyon, Plateau.
Our awesome volcano!!!!!!!
The explosion (notice my sweet picture taking skills, got this shot perfectly).
Kelli putting the mentos in for the explosion!!!
Me making landforms, mountains to be exact.
Kelli and I making landforms (notice the Utah State Volleyball Poster on the Fridge next to pictures my nephew drew for me).
